At Central Neighbourhood House in 2005/2006 seven women were trained as media leaders in an intensive training program where they learned to make their own digital stories and to teach others. The facilitators support the women to use technology to create media that reflects their lives and experiences, and to act as leaders in their communities. These women provide linguistic and cultural support and mentorship to other participants as they co-teach the digital storytelling programs across Toronto and other parts of Ontario with Jennifer and Camille. This project was funded by Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and St. Andrews Church. |
